How does therapy work?

Because each person has different issues and goals, therapy will be different depending on the individual. Season for Change Counseling uses Cognitive Behavior Therapy and tailors its therapeutic approach to your specific needs. We will look at your past experiences to see how they have affected the way you see the world. Then we will see how this thinking has created your current reality. Working together to develop the skills you need to find contentment and joy.

  • Improved communication and conflict resolution

I have questions about insurance.....

Using insurance has its pros and cons. PRO- Insurance helps clients find qualified providers in their area and covers a portion of the fee. CON- Insurance requires that I, as the therapist, give the client a diagnosis that is reported and stored in a national database. This information can be accessed in the future by other insurance companies and could impact the cost of future insurance.

If you have an insurance plan that you would like to use, you can still work with me. You will pay me for services and IF your insurance company provides out of network benefits (OON), I will provide you with what is called a superbill and  you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

You will need to contact your provider to verify how your particular plan works for psychotherapy services.

**I currently accept BCBS Anthem, Cigna, Optum, Aetna, Oxford, Oscar, and United Healthcare; Also taking EAP clients.

I recommend asking your insurance provider these questions to help determine your benefits:

  • Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?

  • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?

  • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?

  • Do I have out of network benefits,? If so, how do they work?

  • Is telehealth covered under my plan.
